BEFORE THE EVENT
I am assuming that you have already done some training and that you are fit enough to tackle the event. A couple of days before the event it`s a good idea to clean your bike. One it will make you feel better on the ride and secondly it gives you a chance to give it the once over. If you are in any doubt take it along to your local shop and get it serviced. If you need any spares you can pick them up as the same time.
Go onto the event website and familiarise yourself with the route. Download and print a copy of the route, its a good idea to put this in a clear plastic bag to keep it dry.
Make sure you have your spares and food organised for the event.
